Agniveer bharti: how it works
Under the Agnipath scheme, the Army, Navy and Air Force enrol young candidates as Agniveers for a four-year engagement. For the Army, recruitment starts with an online Common Entrance Exam (CEE) conducted by each Army Recruiting Office (ARO) zone. Shortlisted candidates are called to a recruitment rally for the Physical Fitness Test (including a 1.6 km run) and Physical Measurement Test, followed by medical examination and document verification. The Navy and Air Force run their own online tests and selection stages on their recruitment portals.

Officer entries
Officers join through UPSC exams: NDA & NA for candidates after Class 12, and CDS for graduates. Both have a written exam followed by a five-day SSB interview and medical tests. Technical graduates, NCC holders and women have additional entries announced by each service.
